Poor Jess....I think she has checked this blog every 10 minutes for a week now...So, here is a sneak peek of some of the shots we got last week for Jess and Ben's engagement!!!
What a great couple! Happy, fun to be around, and they obviously get along with each other wonderfully and in a relaxed way....Such a fun shoot!

The How-To of Ashley's GAP ad...
So I was a little bored this afternoon and decided to catch a little image of Ashley that ended up turning out so well. But I wanted to show you a few things...just FYI:
First off, here is the first shot I took this afternoon. Notice how dark Ashley is compared to the background. That is because the camera is trying not to "blow out" any of the picture. Since the background is so bright, the camera compensates by making most of the picture darker. So Ashley ends up being darker and harder to see. Here it is:
It isn't too bad, and I could use Photoshop to brighten things up if I needed to. But instead I took a second shot. I focused on Ashley's face and then over-exposed by two stops. The camera would still overcompensate, thus blasting out the highlights behind her and bringing her into good exposure. Here is that image (with a little sharpening and cropping):
Then I placed the image on a white image of the same size (in photoshop) and erased everything that wasn't Ashley. I should have taken a little longer and been more careful, but I was just messing around. Anyway, here it is (with some text added, obviously):

Ashley's Ballet Photo-Shoot
Ashley and I have been discussing a way to do a little photo shoot involving her ballet interest. So, we spent a few days trying to determine the best way to take the pictures, what to wear, what "props" would be best, etc. She was cute and "professional" about the whole thing. What we got turned out so great....it is worth checking out...

Before you click...this gallery doesn't scroll up and down, it scrolls left to right. Get it? Left-to-right! Also, there are 3 pages of pics, so click on the "more" button at the far right of each page to see more....makes sense, no?

Such a great Family!
This as been one of my favorite shoots in a while. The drive was great, the light was nice, and the family was wonderful!!!
These children were so well behaved and the parents were laid back and so fun to work with. I"m starting to think that if I could move anywhere, I'd move into their neck of the woods.
